About cookies and similar technologies

This Cookies Policy explains how Mooquo uses cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies when you visit our website or use shared Mooquo files. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Local storage and session storage provide similar browser-based storage, but they are not sent to the server in exactly the same way. We use these technologies only for the purposes described below.

How we use these technologies

We use them to keep you signed in, protect account and shared-file access, remember your language and display preferences, support onboarding, record your cookie choice, and provide basic information about how shared quotes and phase plans are viewed.

Mooquo does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party marketing pixels. If we introduce optional analytics, advertising, or other non-essential technologies, we will update this Policy and request consent where required by applicable law before activating them.

Strictly necessary technologies

These technologies are needed to provide a service you have requested, such as authentication, protected sharing, language selection, email verification, or onboarding. Depending on your location and the specific purpose, they may be used without consent because the service cannot operate properly without them.

If you block or delete them, you may be signed out, asked to verify your identity again, lose access to a password-protected shared file, or be unable to use parts of Mooquo.

Preferences and temporary storage

Mooquo may store preferences such as the selected language, recent selections, timeline zoom, and quote-generation progress. These values are used to make the interface more useful and are not used to advertise to you.

Some preferences are stored only for the current browser session. Others remain until you clear them, change the setting, or the relevant feature replaces them. You can remove this data through your browser settings, although doing so may reset your preferences.

Shared-file viewing measurement

When someone opens a shared quote or phase plan, Mooquo may create a random, anonymous browser identifier and send a view identifier and viewing duration to our service. This helps the workspace owner understand whether a shared file was opened and how long it was viewed. The identifier is not intended to identify a person by name.

This measurement is tied to the shared-file feature and is not an advertising profile. We do not use it to follow you across unrelated websites. Where consent is required for this type of measurement, the feature must be configured to wait for that consent before it is enabled.

Current cookie and storage inventory

mqAccessToken: an HttpOnly, strictly necessary authentication cookie used to keep an account session secure. It lasts until the session expires or you sign out.

mq-locale: a first-party language preference cookie. It may remain for up to one year or until you change or clear it.

mooquoOnboardingPass and mooquoVerify: short-lived, strictly necessary cookies used for onboarding and email or account verification. They are deleted after use or when their flow ends.

mooquo_share_<workspace>_<token> and mooquo_phase_plan_share_<workspace>_<token>: strictly necessary, HttpOnly cookies used to remember access to a password-protected shared quote or phase plan. They expire after 30 days.

mooquo_cookie_consent: local storage used to remember the cookie choice made in the consent banner. It remains until it is cleared or the consent version changes.

mooquo_share_visitor_id: local storage containing a random identifier used for shared-file viewing measurement. It remains until it is cleared or replaced.

Other temporary storage keys may remember interface preferences, such as timeline zoom, recent selections, or an in-progress generation job. Their names and lifetime can vary by feature and browser session.

Third-party technologies

Mooquo may rely on service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email, payments, security, or AI infrastructure. A provider may set or access a cookie only where this is needed for the service, permitted by applicable law, and covered by the relevant contractual and privacy safeguards.

Any future third-party analytics or advertising technology will be identified in this Policy or in the cookie settings interface, together with its purpose, category, and retention period where required.

Your choices and withdrawal

On pages where our consent banner is shown, you can choose to accept optional technologies or allow only necessary technologies. Necessary technologies cannot be switched off through the banner because doing so would prevent core functionality.

You can also block, delete, or restrict cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. If you withdraw consent or clear your choice, this will not affect processing that took place before withdrawal, and some functionality may no longer work.

We may update this Cookies Policy when our technologies, services, or legal obligations change. We will update the date at the top of this page and take reasonable steps to notify users of material changes.
